Dr Kate Vigurs - Director

Dr Kate Vigurs is an experienced and engaging historical interpreter with twelve years professional experience in research, live historical interpretation and re-enactment having worked for Royal Armouries, Imperial War Museum North and English Heritage to name but a few.  She is a drama graduate and has a doctorate in Second World War history; making her uniquely skilled in bringing history to life.  She is an acknowledged expert on the Special Operations Executive, however her knowledge extends to a wide range of historical periods from Roman Britain all the way to the cold war.

Kate set up History's Maid three years ago and it is going from strength to strength.  Kate is dedicated to revitalising history for the purposes of entertainment and education, and any client or audience is guaranteed a well researched, professional and engaging display which will inspire and capture the imagination.

Stu Perry - Stuart Perry trained at Bretton Hall in Theatre (Acting), and since completing his degree in 2003 he has worked on many projects, as well as working for six years at a historical tourist attraction. Actor, writer and director, Stuart has a keen interest in Crime and Punishment throughout European history and considers himself to be an expert on torture and execution. This is not a fact he shares regularly.
 
Rob Temple - Rob graduated from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 2000 and has been working as a professional actor ever since.
He has worked in film,television and theatre. For five years Rob was one of the actor/combatants for the Royal Armouries Museum. He has trained in a number of Martial Arts styles from around the world, including Western swordsmanship, Kobudo, Ju-Jitsu and Bartitsu
Matt Broom
Matt has worked on many jousts and historical events with Destrier Pro and Destrier, he has also worked for and alongside Terry Deary.  He has been an intrinsic part of History’s Maid for a number of years as a researcher, script writer and occasional performer.  His rendition of Dick Turpin in ‘Terrible Teatimes’ had the mums swooning and nearly won him the title of most horrible character in Yorks history (he was narrowly pipped to the post by Terry Deary himself as Mr Pym). 
Matt is a skilled swordsman and archer and is currently honing his skills as a horsemen to make him the ultimate medieval warrior!
