Entertaining Enlightening Educational

Dr Kate Vigurs is a drama graduate and history postgraduate offering nearly twenty years of professional experience in research, live historical interpretation and re-enactment. She is dedicated to revitalising history for the purposes of entertainment and education, and any client or audience of History’s Maid is guaranteed a well researched, professional and engaging display which will inspire and capture the imagination. Current and recent clients include: English Heritage, Royal Armouries, National Army Museum, Lincoln Castle and Prison, National Waterways Museum, Arundel International Tournament, Imperial War Museum North, Doncaster 1914 - 1918.

Dr Kate Vigurs

Director
Dr Kate Vigurs is an experienced and engaging historical interpreter with nearly twenty years professional experience in research, live historical interpretation and living history having worked for Royal Armouries, Imperial War Museum North and English Heritage to name but a few. She is a drama graduate and has a doctorate in Second World War history; making her uniquely skilled in bringing history to life. She is an acknowledged expert on the Special Operations Executive, however her knowledge extends to a wide range of historical periods from Roman Britain all the way to the cold war. Kate set up History’s Maid eight years ago and it is going from strength to strength. Kate is dedicated to revitalising history for the purposes of entertainment and education, and any client or audience is guaranteed a well researched, professional and engaging display which will inspire and capture the imagination.

Endaxi Mana Mou

Equine Team Member
Daxi is History’s Horse, she is an ex race horse and working polo pony who belongs to Kate. Since joining the team in August 2016 Daxi has taken part in displays of First World War Cavalry, Victorian tent pegging and polo, Victorian Side Saddle, Georgian hunting, Medieval Jousting and was even the getaway horse for the Lincolnshire Highwayman!

Mr Dog is new to the world of historical interpretation and has only been to several events so far. He particularly likes WWII and Victorian sports horse events.
